Cheri, G is a “young” second grader. His birthday is in May, so some of the kids, like those with October birthdays, have seven months on him. PLUS, he’s a boy. Need I say more. I mean, that’s generalizing, but most of the time, they are the more wiggly and easily-distracted of the two sexes — at least at this age.

UGH on the neighbors. Is G a ''young'' second grader? I homeschool. But my newly 6 yr old is in 1st grade. He is a terrific student, reading on about a early 3rd grade level etc. BUT we are having some ''issues'' with him at church. Nothing ''bad'' just being wiggly, and silly. But he's in a class with older kids (1-3rd grade, with most being older 7 and 8 yr olds) Anyway one of my school teacher friends said it is common in ''younger'' boys to kind of struggle witht he emotional/social aspect while they are totally ready academically. I'll keep checking in...I do want to keep up with ya!

Ugh. I woulda been all “Put me on with your Supervisor NOW pleaseandthankyouverymuch…”
I hate it when people make it seem like we are an inconvenience when all we want is for them to do thier job.
