Users in all circles and states where BSNL operates should subscribe to this plan.
BSNL Prepaid Recharge Plan: State-owned company BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) launched a new prepaid recharge plan on Wednesday. The plan, which costs Rs 797, offers users a validity of 365 days i.e. one year. Users who opt for this plan get several benefits, including free SMS, voice calls and data. In addition, the plan has launched with an introductory offer that gives users an additional 30 days of validity – meaning those who opt for the plan will get a total of 395 days of validity until June 12 this year.
Users in all circles and states where BSNL operates should subscribe to this plan. For Rs 797, the plan would offer unlimited calls, high-speed internet up to 2 GB per day (after which it would provide 80 kbps speed) and 100 text messages per day for 60 days. It is unclear why BSNL keeps the plan valid for 365 (or 395) days when the benefits expire after the first two months, but this means that users would have to purchase benefits using add-on packages for the remaining validity of the month, according to our current understanding.
Interested users can subscribe to the plan through BSNL’s online portal. Alternatively, users can also use the BSNL Selfcare app, which gives them a 4% discount. As usual, third-party payment platforms that offer charging facilities such as Paytm and Google Pay would also offer the subscription for charging.
With the benefits expiring so quickly in the validity period, it is clear that the main purpose of the plan is to keep the user active on the BSNL network, probably because most mobile operators require users to subscribe to expensive plans, with benefits that may not be useful to them because of repetition so that their numbers remain active. The BSNL subscription makes it easier for users who have a BSNL number as a secondary connection to keep it active without paying too much. Therefore, this plan may not be suitable for those who use BSNL for their day-to-day activities, but it is quite useful for those who only have it for emergencies or other purposes.
