The National Development and Reform Commission, the country’s chief economic planner, has asked power generators to sign long-term supply contracts with domestic miners and stockpile supplies that will last at least 15 days, according to those in the know. The move was in effect as of Friday, when the committee convened major coal and energy suppliers for a private meeting, people said.
