Buoyed by the resounding victory in Punjab’s election polls, the AAP is now focusing on Rajasthan, with the party holding a two-day convention in Jaipur to “strengthen” the organization in the state where elections will be held next year. According to the AAP, the party’s state responsible and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh will hold talks during the March 26-27 event on ways to raise awareness of the party’s welfare policies.
Party leaders also said Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislator from Dwarka and former MP Mahabal Mishra’s son Vinay Mishra could face Rajasthan’s responsibility at the convention.
The AAP is going to hold a two-day convention – ‘Vijay Utsav’ – and all party leaders and workers will participate to strengthen the organization in Rajasthan, said AAP’s co-responsible Khemchand Jagirdar.
“The party has started preparing for the parliamentary elections in Himachal Pradesh. Rajasthan is a neighboring state of Punjab and close to New Delhi. To strengthen the organization in the state, the party is holding a two-day convention,” said Jagirdar.
The party will soon announce the name of its state president in Rajasthan, he added.
The AAP will also soon be organizing a membership campaign to provide people with an alternative to the state’s mainstream political parties, they said.
In the 2018 Rajasthan parliamentary election, AAP had fielded 142 candidates out of 200 seats and secured only 0.4 percent of the vote, without winning even a single seat.
