In New Mexico, where the coronavirus has devastated health care systems across the state, hospitals are facing more than $400 million in losses, nearly $250 million of which is due to personnel costs, including travel nurses. And the damage is likely to increase, according to Troy Clark, chief executive officer of the New Mexico Hospital Association.
