The Maithan Power Project, according to the ministry in a press release, started in 2009 and then, in the year 2011, energy generation started. Until now, the coal requirement for the Maithan Power Project has been through the road, which is expected to convert to as many as 120 incoming coal rakes per month. Two to four outer rakes of fly ash from the siding are also expected to be handled. The move will boost the national carrier’s revenue by about Rs 11 crores per month. The location is near industrial and mining areas, according to the ministry. The ministry also said that the future prospects of the siding are promising.
Speaking about the opening of the Gati Shakti Cargo Terminal, Railway Board Chairman and CEO VK Tripathi said the Indian Railways network is committed to realize Prime Minister Gati Shakti’s vision. According to Tripathi, Indian Railways transportation is good for the economy as it is both the most energy efficient and the most economical mode of transportation. The commissioning of this cargo terminal and more such terminals will have a very positive impact on the country’s economy, he added.
