Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) announced the seventh round of its Mobility & Automobile Innovation Lab (MAIL) initiative, inviting submissions from early startups in the mobility and automotive sectors.
Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) announced the seventh round of its Mobility & Automobile Innovation Lab (MAIL) initiative on Thursday, inviting submissions from early startups in the mobility and automotive space.
The company is inviting early stage startups to apply for Cohort 7 of its (MAIL) program and welcomes startups offering solutions in technology, mobility and automotive space to join the initiative, MSI said in a statement.
Founded with a vision to co-create deployable solutions in the mobility space, the winning startups will have the opportunity to conduct a paid Proof-of-Concept (PoC) with the company, it added.
All shortlisted startups will have the opportunity to turn their innovative ideas into practical and disruptive solutions, while demonstrating their entrepreneurial capabilities and being mentored and guided by industry experts in the domestic and international startup ecosystem, said the auto major.
“Our collaboration with startups in the previous cohorts has been very fruitful. By conducting PoCs with 19 of the startups, we were able to work flexibly by bringing forward new technologies,” said Kenichi Ayukawa, Managing Director & CEO from MSI.
Some of the areas the company is working with these startups include smart logistics, energy management and digital transformation and ADAS, he added.
“As we open submissions for Cohort 7, we hope our company will appeal to more such startups, which can add further value to the industry. Through each cohort of the MAIL program, we have successively strengthened our commitment to the government’s Startup India initiative,” Ayukawa noted.
MSI had launched the MAIL program in January 2019 to identify and bring together startups with innovative and cutting-edge solutions, and to further collaborate to create technology-led solutions in mobility and automotive space.
