After announcing a price increase, Ola Electric is all set to launch a special edition ‘Gerua’ color e-scooter on Holi this year.

Ola Electric said Thursday that it will increase the prices of S1 Pro e-scooters in its next purchase window. However, the company did not disclose the likely price hike and the next window opening date.

Ola Electric had opened the purchase window on March 17 for those who pre-ordered S1 Pro and for others the following day on the Ola app platform. The company also said that the new colored S1 Pro will only be available on March 17 and 18, coinciding with Holi.

Ola had said it will also be releasing an exclusive special edition color ‘Gerua’, in a beautiful glossy finish. This color is only available for the two days of Holi on March 17 and 18. On Thursday, Bhavish Aggarwal, Founder and CEO, Ola said on Twitter: “Last chance to get it for 1.29999. In the next window we will increase prices. This (current) window ends at 6pm.” He also thanked everyone who has already bought S1 Pro: “Special thanks to those who bought their 2nd or 3rd S1 Pro,” he said.

Ola had said that for the current window, the entire digital payment process will be through the Ola app only. The shipment of these new orders of Ola S1 Pro from the Ola Futurefactory will start in April 2022 and will be delivered to the customer.

The e-scooters are produced in the Ola Futurefactory, the world’s largest 2W factory. The company is currently ramping up production and supply of the Ola S1 Pro scooter to meet the overwhelming demand from customers.
Aggarwal had previously stated that Ola Electric delivered nearly 7,000 vehicles in February and expects to deliver 15,000 units by March. Over the past 12 months, Ola Electric has built the Futurefactory, the world’s largest production facility for electric two-wheelers in the Krishnarajapuram district of Tamil Nadu.

Ola Futurefactory, which will employ more than 10,000 women at full capacity, will be the world’s largest women-only factory and the only car factory produced exclusively by women.
