While Prime Minister Modi spoke about the film outside parliament, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman raised the plight of the Kashmiri pandits in the Lok Sabha.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today reacted strongly to those who tried to discredit the film ‘Kashmir FIles’, saying that a campaign was being led by an entire ecosystem to “bury truths” and urging lawmakers from the Bharatiya Janata- party to stand in solidarity with those who try to bring out the truth. The prime minister’s statement came amid a furious controversy over the film, which depicts the exodus and persecution of Kashmiri pandits decades ago.

At a meeting of the BJP parliamentary party, Prime Minister Modi lashed out at voices criticizing the Kashmir Files film and tried to discredit it without bothering to judge the truth presented by the film. He said those walking around with the “freedom of speech” flag are shocked by the film. The prime minister further said that those who disagree with what has been presented in the film are free to produce their own version.

“Nowadays, must have seen, the movie Kashmir Files is discussed. Anyone walking around with the banner of ‘freedom of speech’ will be amazed. Instead of judging it by facts, art, their entire ecosystem is campaigning to discredit it. Someone has dared to present the truth as it was due. However, they are not ready to understand or accept the truth. They are also not ready to let others watch the movie. The kind of conspiracy that has been going on for the last four to five days,” Prime Minister Modi said.

He further added that presenting the truth always works for the betterment of the country. “My subject is not the movie, my subject is, whatever the truth may be, putting the country in the right shape what’s true is for the betterment of the country… There can be different aspects to it – some people can see one aspect while some can see another aspect those who think this movie is not good should make another movie it will stop them they are stunned the fact that they hid for a long time based on the facts is brought forward, and someone does this after hard work, then the whole ecosystem is against it,” Prime Minister Modi said.

While Prime Minister Modi spoke about the film outside parliament, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman raised the plight of the Kashmiri pandits in the Lok Sabha. Sitharaman said that even today the pain of the victims cannot be expressed in words, many people still deny that it did not happen. She criticized the Indian National Congress for alleged tweets claiming that Kashmiri Pandits were not forced to flee. The tweets were allegedly created by the Kerala Congress and were later deleted.

‘कश्मीर फाइल्स’ के बारे में बात करते समय ये याद करना चाहिए कि जब हिन्दुओं के साथ इतना कुछ घट रहा था, तो वे इससे कैसे निकलें।

पंडित जब परेशानियों का सामना कर रहे थे, तब वहां नेशनल कॉन्फ्रेंस नीत सरकार थी और उसमें कांग्रेस शामिल थी।
