AAI has started the project and is expected to be completed by August 2023.

The passenger handling capacity at Pune Airport will double from 7 million passengers per year (MPPA) to 16 million passengers per year. The Airport Authority of India (AAI) is adding a new terminal with an investment of Rs 475 crore.

AAI has started the project and is expected to be completed by August 2023.

The new terminal building will be integrated with the existing terminal – creating a built-up area of 750,000 m² to handle 16 million passengers per year with 10 passenger bridges, 72 check-in counters and 36,000 m² for food and beverage and retail outlets.

The airport will also have a multi-storey car park, which is being built for Rs 120 crore and will be commissioned in July 2022. It will have a capacity to park 1024 cars and will be connected to the departure area by an overhead bridge.
