Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s SP Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) has redesigned its postgraduate program in Development Management (PGPDM) and has begun the admission process for the program’s 20th cohort. The 12-month executive management program aims to develop leaders for the social development sector, including NGOs, the CSR function of corporate organizations, foundations and social enterprises.
The program was launched in 2011, and with 19 cohorts over 11 years, the institute claims to have impacted 274 organizations in 21 states of India. With input from PTI, the program has been redesigned with a greater emphasis on sensible innovation and change management for sustainable development after observing the impact of COVID on society.
The new structure of the program combines the efficiency of online learning with networking and building relationships through face-to-face interactions. The program is modular and allows students to continue working at their current organization. It consists of 30 courses, delivered over six contact periods of two weeks each. The first and last contacts will take place on the SPJIMR campus in Mumbai, while the remaining four contacts will take place online on weekends and weekdays. Upon completion of the program, participants become part of SPJIMR’s global alumni and join a larger community for sustainable social innovation fueled by SPJIMR’s Center for Innovation in Sustainable Development.
The last application date for 20 cohorts is April 10, 2022 with the program commencing on May 7, 2022. The program eligibility criteria include a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university and a minimum of two years of relevant work experience.
