Indian markets closed in the red on Monday amid high volatility, swept by financials and FMCG stocks. Both benchmark indices – Sensex and Nifty50 – closed nearly 1 percent lower, while the broader markets outperformed benchmarks as Nifty midcap fell 81 points to 28,897 at the close.
According to market analyst Narendra Solanki, Head-Equity Research (Fundamental), Anand Rathi Shares & Stock-Brokers said, “Indian markets opened mixedly after muted Asian market signals as rising oil prices and ongoing crisis in Ukraine kept investors on their toes.”

“The return of FII to buy mode is positive for domestic equities, but the rise in bulk diesel prices and inflationary pressures are bending the domestic market,” said Vinod Nair, Head of Research at Geojit Financial Services.
Stocks such as Wipro, L&T, Bank of India, Karnataka Bank, Thermax, PNB, REC, Equitas Holdings, BEL, SBI Life, SBI Cards are likely to be in the spotlight on Tuesday.
